Our Mission
The need for the Marian Messengers was first discerned in 2011 at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe after Fr. Tim had photographed the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe for the second time. Since then, Mary has been forming Fr. Tim in the vineyard of Hispanic Ministry and Parish work in the Diocese of La Crosse, WI.
In 2022, Fr. Tim took a 4-month sabbatical to write his dissertation on Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. John Paul II as a model of personalist evangelization. This was received with much excitement, so much so, that on July 10, 2023 Bishop Callahan decided to release Fr. Tim from pastoral work in the Diocese to promote Our Lady of Guadalupe in the United States.
Through prayerful discernment and study, we believe that Mary is calling for an apostolate that seeks to proclaim the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe as both an invitation to faith and a model of evangelization for the 21st century.
On July 1, 2024, Fr. Tim will be full time Director of the Marian Messengers. The goal for the rest of this year is to travel as much as possible and inviting as many as possible to join our apostolate. In addition, we need to bring together the team to lead this apostolate for the coming years and apply for our canonical status. May Mary arrange us into a sign for the whole world! Let us Magnify the greatness of the Lord with Mary.
The Marian Messengers is a 501(c)3 Apostolate of the Diocese of La Crosse. Our primary mission is to promote Our Lady of Guadalupe. We are called to rekindle Marian Devotion in the Catholic Church and to confidently share our faith for the salvation of all as a response to the New Evangelization. This is endeavored through the four groups of the Marian Messengers.
- Marian Intercessors – A family of prayer warriors who intercede through Marian Devotions and the practice of the Catholic faith for the work of evangelization in their families and parishes.
- Marian Messengers – A family of evangelizers who are formed and mentored in the spirituality of the Marian Messengers and live their faith boldly to daily walk with those who have fallen away or never heard the Gospel. Marian Messengers guide Mary’s children back home to the Catholic Church.
- Marian Scholars – A family of accomplished academic scholars who have dedicated their efforts to Our Lady of Guadalupe or St John Paul II. Their efforts are a beacon of truth leading us out of the darkness of our age.
- Marian Benefactors – A family of generous stewards who make the other groups possible. As St Paul had Antioch to support his missionary activity, the Marian Benefactors allow us to be motivated by faith and not by economics.
